Victor Emishi was born twenty-one years ago in Taldor, on the outskirts of Cassomir, near the Verduran Forest.

Josephine Santo (mother): his mother died giving birth to him. He would later learn that this is common amongst people with the curse of the Black Blood, and blame himself even more for this. Victor's relationship to this trauma is distant: he will not react to seeing people happy with their mother, but might turn sour if asked about it.

Rupert Emishi (father): his father was a teacher in a rural school. He raised Victor very lovingly, and the shadow of Josephine's death did not really make them grow apart: their interests did. Victor never really 'connected' with his father, and his father eventually accepted this more or less.

Yoris Erutan: Victor spent more time with a warden of the Viridian Forest, who had found an easier life defending the trade routes between said forest and Cassomir. He had plenty of stories to tell, and many advice for life in the wilderness.
