Mercure 8 is a 117-years-old Android, created to work as a surgeon on Absolom Station.

He is often seen wearing simple, reasonably fashionable but not flashy clothing. His skin is nearly beige enough to pass for human, but it has a noticeable blue hue. His hair is dark brown, unemarkable, tied in a tight braid down the neck, barely reaching the shoulders. He has neon-lime eyes, very noticeable in the dark. Unlike most androids, he does not have many light-up markings or tatoos. Those he has are mostly at the base of the neck and inside his palms. They softly glow pastel blue. He has retractable ears, a feature that is uncommon even among androids, and feels uncanny for most humans. He usually only uses them if he wants to make someone unconfortable.

Mercure 8 used to have a very good reputation on Absolom Station as one of the best surgeons around. As such, he was one day tasked with a delicate operation on Kumara Melacruz, Absolom Station's political leader. He was quickly approached by the 6-Tips Gang: the mob wanted Melacruz dead, and it would be convenient for them if something "happened" during the operation. Mercure 8 ignored their threats, taking pride in his role as a surgeon, and aware that his reputation would greatly suffer if he botched such a high-profile case.

The gang retaliated by sending a hitman who used a prototype anti-android weapon, built as an EMP. It was supposed to be undetectable on the surface and fatal, but it didn't work quite as expected. Not all of Mercure 8's memory banks were wiped. Enough that he was knocked unconscious for a hard reboot, but worker processes promptly brought his basic OS back up. He, however, lost all memory.

He contacted a colleague, whose contact info he found somewhere in his appartment when he woke up. They eventually pieced together what must have happened. They realized that the Gang thought he was dead, and Mercure 8 was still in danger when they found out he was alive. A quick evacuation plan was made to send him to the nearby planet Verses, where he could find menial work. His medical knowledge had been wiped, and he didn't want to keep the same line of work just in case, so he started repairing spaceships, ending up in Fygiz's shop soon after.

Getting safely as far from Absolom as possible, rebuilding his life, finding new purpose.
Fears
Be found by the 6-Tips gang again, death (because it is not inevitable for androids)
