Graham was born in Varisia from a Cleric father and a Fighter mother.
He was raised with the value of Order, particularly important and missing in the shifting Varisia.
However, a halfling sorcerer, ex-adventuring buddy of his parents, was also very present as he was raised,
including keeping an eye on him during a year-long crusade in which both parents were called.
Thus, Graham has the idea that Good and Order are imperative, but Good should be put before Order if need be.
Nevertheless, Graham decided to become a Paladin.
He received Abadar's blessing and set off to be trained, but he could tell that something was not right.
His powers grew very slowly, he always had difficulty concentrating on spells, and he sensed that Abadar wanted constant devotion.
His god was saying "good, but not quite enough".
He did not even set foot in the training camp. He was rejected outright, because of this conflict.
Not wanting to go right back home and admit he failed, he headed to a nearby village to contemplate his options.
There, he met Linwood, and he started adventuring.
He still kinda resents being rejected as a Paladin, and will not call himself a Paladin,
but he strives to do just as much good as if he really was,
while exploring all the potential of not being so bound to a moral code.
Abadar seems to be more lenient now, with his somewhat dirtier tactics, perhaps only because he is a very effective agent.
